Currimundi Primary School is a great State School by the beach. We use its unique coastal environment as a basis for building a shared vision for learning. The School is situated in idyllic conditions just a few steps from the rock pools, dunes and surf of the beautiful Dicky Beach.“Riding the Waves to Success” sums up our belief that all students can enjoy success if they are empowered through knowledge and skills to be creative and reflective thinkers, effective communicators, active participants, keen investigators and problem solvers.Our Teaching Teams design innovative, purposeful and integrated learning units that equip our students for future success. Literacy and Numeracy skills and practices are the corner stone of all learning and an integral part of all activities. Integrated Units of Study founded in English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Study of Society and the Environment, Health and Physical Education, the Arts, LOTE (Languages other than English – Italian) provide opportunities for the transfer of learned skills to real life situations.
Our dynamic Curriculum is enhanced through a diverse range of learning opportunities including:- Year 6 and 7 Italian, Recreational Sports including surf and beach skills, Inter-School Sport, Student Council, Years 4 to 7 Camping Program, Arts Week, strong Athletics and Ball Games Sports Program, Environmental Initiatives, Human Relationship Education, Innovative pro-active Behaviour Development Program, After-School and Vacation Care Programs, Instrumental Music Program and Choirs.Our positive ‘Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students’ supports the provision of a safe environment for all through the use of rewards and consequences. Parental support of this Program is a crucial component to ensure successful outcomes for our students.Our School has a high level of teamwork, is committed to continuous improvement, wanting to fulfil Community expectations and at the same time guiding the Community to know what they should expect.I believe that parents and teachers must work in partnership, guiding and nurturing students in the same direction.
